Division K Governor visits
the Sandakan Toastmasters Club
- 24 February 2005

TM Norman Chin, TM Davina Khoo, TM Margaret Liew and TM Amy Hiew all pledged to complete their CTM Awards before the end of the term. Their pledges were made to the Division K Governor, Richard A. Gontusan, DTM, during the teh tarik session after the Sandakan Toastmasters Club’s meeting on 24 February 2004. Present at the session was Club President Luna Chua, who treated everyone to supper that evening.

Earlier in the evening, Richard attended the club meeting, which was held at the Sabah Hotel. About 20 members and guests were at the meeting, which saw the Charter President AR Natarajan as the superb Toastmaster of the Evening. During the airtime given to him by the President Luna Chua, Richard promoted the Division K 9th Annual Convention, and urged everyone to participate in the convention for the fellowship and the educational workshops.

The Table Topics session was interesting in that many of the respondents were volunteers, which included Eleanor Wong, DTM, TM Margaret Liew, TM Amy Hiew, Anne Tan, CTM, TM Dusun Chong and Datuk Hassan Alban Sandukong, ATM-G. Everyone seemed to come under the spell of the Table Topics Master, Judy Goh, ATM-B.

Datuk Hassan Alban delivered the only manual speech that evening, in which he presented a status report, for his ATM-B Speech Project. Richard took over as the Humour Master.

The General Evaluator, Norman Chin, who is the club’s VPPR, declared the meeting a success. In closing, President Luna Chua encouraged her members to proceed with their speeches and to help the club achieve its DCP goals. The club inducted two new members during the meeting that evening, a mother and daughter team, TM Siew Nyuk Lin and TM Chin Fui Yee respectively.
